Kirk Painting started on the job site — brushes, rollers, sprayers, ladders, and a lot of strong opinions about which gear actually holds up. These days we put those opinions to the test with data instead of hunches.
For every guide, we pull together thousands of verified buyer reviews, real-world ratings, and price signals, then score each product on a 0–100 scale we call the Kirk Score. Nothing is sponsored, and nothing makes the list on vibes alone. If it isn't gear we'd run on our own project, it doesn't get recommended.
Our Review Methodology
- Data-first: We start by collecting verified buyer ratings, review counts, and price history for every product in a category.
- Review analysis: We read and synthesize hundreds of verified customer reviews, identifying patterns in praise and complaints.
- Editorial judgment: Our team adds context: which products suit which use cases, and what trade-offs matter most.
- Regular updates: We revisit articles as new products launch or older picks drop in quality.
Editorial Independence
We do earn affiliate commissions when you click links and make purchases, but this never influences which products we recommend or how we rank them. Our goal is to be the most trustworthy home decor resource on the internet — and that only works if our recommendations are genuinely honest.
